The paramedics had arrived on the scene when they heard shouting on the other side of the pavement.
"C'mon man stay with me stay with". Sarah saw the paramedics and screamed "HELP US PLEASE, HELP US". The paramedics ran over to Scott with the medical supplies in hand, they could see from a distance that he was in a bad way.
Stephen was trying to grab the medical equipment when the first paramedic told him "Please sir we can handle this"
"The hell you can he's my brother and I am a doctor so I know what I am doing"
"Sir you know you can't do anything as he is you're brother, please let us do our job and go and look after your sister"
Stephen looked over and saw Sarah shaking like a leaf and with tears streaming down her face. He went over and held her while they both watched the medics try and stabilise Scott.
Sarah kept repeating over and over again "Please not again, don't take him from us"
"Listen to me we are not going to lose him, he is the strongest one in the family and he is not leaving us you got that"
Finally Scott was stabilised enough so they could move him onto the stretcher and into the ambulance. While on the way to the hospital the medics were asking what had happened, Stephen was answering as best he could considering the circumstances, he knew he should go into doctor mode but he just couldn’t it was his brother lying there fighting for his life.
Sarah spoke quietly "Is he going to make it?"
"He has a very weak pulse, and until we get him to the hospital and realise the extent of his injuries we won’t know" replied the medic
They finally arrived at the hospital; Scott was quickly wheeled in to the emergency room and connected to machines to monitor his heart rate and pulse, the paramedics were explaining to the doctors what had happened and the extent of Scott’s injuries, when all of a sudden Scott stopped breathing.
IN AMERICA 15 MINUTES EARLIER
While John and his parents were being driven back to the hotel he still didn’t feel right, he knew something was wrong but couldn’t put his finger on it.
"Sweetheart you okay?, you don't look right" asked his mum
"I don't know mum something just doesn’t feel right"
"What do you mean?"
"It feels wrong somehow. I am probably just tired"
"Of course you are we will go back to the hotel have some food and relax" she soothed.
They had just got in to the foyer of the hotel when suddenly John exclaimed:
"I need to phone Scott something’s wrong!"
"Honey, its 2.30 in the morning in London, phone him later"
"No I need to do it now I have to speak to him NOW!!!"
John pulled his phone from his pocket in a state of unexplainable panic and dialled Scott’s mobile number. Someone picked up but it wasn’t Scott, it was Sarah all he could hear were people shouting in the background, then he heard Sarah screaming:
"Please Scott, NO NO!"
A chill crept down John’s back and he went white as a sheet.
